The stupa in Kushinagar is called the Mahaparinirvana Stupa, and it is believed to contain the Buddha’s relics, including his ashes. The stupa was built during the reign of Emperor Ashoka in the 3rd century BCE, and it remains an important pilgrimage site for Buddhists from around the world.
