✨ One Central Truth: Jesus Revealed in Glory and Power
When we open Revelation, the very first verse sets the tone: “The revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave him to show to his servants the things that must soon take place” (Revelation 1:1). The book is not primarily about beasts, plagues, or future speculation — it is about Jesus.
He is not just a gentle teacher or suffering servant here. He is the exalted, glorified Son of God, standing in blazing holiness, with eyes like fire and a voice like rushing waters (Revelation 1:13–15). He holds the keys of Death and Hades (Revelation 1:18).
In a world terrified of death, this truth is revolutionary: Jesus has conquered the grave. He reigns, and His reign is unchallenged. Nothing happens outside His sovereign authority.
Jesus as the Alpha and Omega
“I am the Alpha and the Omega,” says the Lord God, “who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty.” (Revelation 1:8)
Alpha and Omega are the first and last letters of the Greek alphabet, meaning Jesus is the beginning and the end — the ultimate source and goal of all creation.
Everything starts with Him, and everything finds its completion in Him. You were not created by accident; your story is not random. Jesus holds all things together.

“Jesus Christ the faithful witness, the firstborn of the dead, and the ruler of kings on earth.” (Revelation 1:5)

He is also the firstborn of the dead, which means He is the first to rise from the dead never to die again. In Him, death does not have the final word.

The Lion and the Lamb
In Revelation 5, John weeps because no one is found worthy to open the scroll — the plan for redemption and the destiny of the world. But then he hears:
“Weep no more; behold, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, has conquered, so that he can open the scroll and its seven seals.” (Revelation 5:5)
When John turns to look, he does not see a ferocious lion but a Lamb standing as though it had been slain.
This is the great paradox and glory of Jesus: the conquering King is also the sacrificial Lamb. He triumphs not through violence but through self-giving love. He wins by losing, lives by dying, and calls us to follow Him in this upside-down kingdom.
For those crushed by guilt, this Lamb has taken your place. For those longing for justice, this Lion will make all things right.
The Bridegroom Who Loves the Church
Revelation does not only speak of judgment; it speaks of a wedding.
“Let us rejoice and exult and give him the glory, for the marriage of the Lamb has come, and his Bride has made herself ready.” (Revelation 19:7)
Jesus is not merely a distant ruler — He is a loving Bridegroom. He pursues His people with relentless love and will one day bring them into eternal union with Him.
This changes how we see church life today. We are not just a religious organization; we are a beloved Bride being prepared for an eternal wedding feast. The One who knows every flaw and every failure loves us passionately and invites us into intimate fellowship.
⚖️ The Righteous Judge
Many people struggle with the idea of judgment. But in Revelation, Jesus is shown as the righteous Judge who will make all things right.
“From his mouth comes a sharp sword with which to strike down the nations, and he will rule them with a rod of iron.” (Revelation 19:15)
Jesus’ judgment is not vengeful cruelty — it is perfect justice. All evil, all oppression, all hidden sins will be exposed and dealt with.
We long for a world where wrongs are righted. Jesus promises this day will come. He will not overlook a single tear or injustice.

King of Kings and Lord of Lords
“On his robe and on his thigh he has a name written, King of kings and Lord of lords.” (Revelation 19:16)

“Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away.” (Revelation 21:1)
“Behold, the dwelling place of God is with man. He will dwell with them, and they will be his people.” (Revelation 21:3)
All of history is moving toward this day when God will wipe away every tear, and there will be no more death or pain.
