Buddhism is a non-theistic religion that focuses on the teachings of the Buddha, who lived in ancient India around 2500 years ago. According to Buddhist teachings, the Buddha was a human being who attained enlightenment through his efforts and taught a path to liberation from suffering that is open to all people. The Buddha’s teachings do not mention Jesus or any other figures from Abrahamic religions.

That being said, some Buddhists may hold personal beliefs about Jesus or find elements of his teachings compatible with their beliefs. It is also possible for Buddhists to respect and honor Jesus as an important religious figure for those who follow the Abrahamic traditions.
