As of 2021, Christianity is the largest religion in the world, followed by Islam, Hinduism, and Buddhism.


These four religions together make up more than half of the world’s population.

Buddhism is the fourth-largest religion, with about half a billion followers, or 6.9% of the population.

Other religions that make up a significant portion of the world’s population include Sikhism, Judaism, Baha’i, Jainism, Shintoism, Cao Dai, Zoroastrianism, and many traditional indigenous religions.

It’s worth noting that many people also identify as non-religious or atheist, making up about 16% of the world’s population. Additionally, these numbers are based on estimates and may vary depending on the source and the criteria used for counting.
