Buddhism is a non-theistic religion that focuses on attaining enlightenment through ethical conduct, meditation, and wisdom.
However, some deities are revered in some forms of Buddhism, such as the bodhisattvas, enlightened beings who have chosen to postpone their liberation to help others attain enlightenment.
Some of Buddhism’s most widely revered bodhisattvas include Avalokiteshvara, Manjushri, and Maitreya. In Tibetan Buddhism, there is also the concept of the Dalai Lama, which is believed to be a reincarnation of the bodhisattva Avalokiteshvara.
