They believe that God is just, merciful, and compassionate and that He has no partner, son, or equal. They also believe that God is directly involved in the world and that He is the ultimate source of guidance for humanity, as revealed in the Quran, the holy book of Islam, and the Hadith, the sayings and actions of the Prophet Muhammad.
In addition to these beliefs, Muslims also believe in the angels, the prophets, the day of judgment, heaven and hell, and the divine decree (Qadr), which is the belief that everything that happens in the world, both good and bad, is ultimately determined by God.
Muslims are encouraged to live a righteous life in accordance with the principles of their faith and the teachings of the Quran and to seek a close relationship with God through prayer, charity, and other acts of worship. They believe that the ultimate goal of life is to attain the pleasure of God and to be united with Him in the afterlife.
The central importance of belief in God is emphasized in Islam, and it is considered the foundation of all other beliefs and practices. It is considered the first and most important of the Five Pillars of Islam, which also include the declaration of faith (Shahada), prayer (Salah), charity (Zakat), fasting (Sawm), and pilgrimage to Mecca (Hajj).
